where is home

I suffered from depression during the latter part of June until the first few weeks of July. Since my tutor had to attend Korean Classes, I had free time. I felt really sad at that time that's why I chose studying this over another Chinese language course (I think I've had enough of it).

As they say, Chinese Calligraphy helps people become peaceful. I thought it was a chance to meditate in this busy city especially that I was depressed at that time. So I enrolled. I go to my Chinese Calligraphy Class every other day. I would wake up at 8.30am and would leave the house at 9 just to catch the busy going directly to the southern end of XueYuanLu, and walk for about 10 minutes to get to class.

I had fun, and thought I had my share of improvements... until I had to go home (to Manila) for my grandma's birthday party.

I swear I couldn't hold the brush properly anymore when I came back (August 18,2011)! (I'm now taking classes at 2.30pm.) My teacher tried to correct the way I'm holding it and even stared at it at 360 degrees, but he couldn't. It was just awkward. I knew there was something wrong, but I myself couldn't correct it. So I decided to take another class the next day and just try to be familiar with the art again.

Now, at least, I am close to being back to my regular programming! I have classes with my tutor everyday, calligraphy class every other day, stuff to layout, my Chinese Diary (to write and correct), etc.

I finally felt that I'm home.
